Get to know the Suncook River

The Suncook River is a slow winding river that travels from the northeastern to southwestern corner of the campground, and is teeming with fish and wildlife. Explore both directions of the river with ease. The currents are generally lazy and easy to paddle with and against. Feel like taking it easy? Tube from the first beach on property (across from the playground) to the second beach. It takes about an hour with a good book or cold drink in tow.

Fishing on the Suncook you can find bass, perch, the occasional trout and other small warm water fish. Make sure to check state fishing requirements ahead of your trip to ensure you have everything you need.

How to Boat at Suncook River Camp

  • We rent boats to seasonal and transient guests of the campground during our camping season (mid-May to late October). You can pre-book online when you reserve your campsite @ checkout!
  • Review our boat policy and waiver then either text us or stop into the store to rent your boats or tubes. Life vests (PFDs) and paddles are located next to the store/office.
  • Boat and tube rentals are $15 per person for the duration of your stay.
  • Boating tubing is allowed from dawn to dusk. No boats allowed on the river after dusk. Violators will be asked to leave with no refund.
  • Have your own Kayak, Canoe, or SUP? Feel free to bring it camping with you! Launch from either beach on our property for hours of exploring.

Where to Fish at Suncook River Camp

  • Most river campsites have direct access to great fishing. Cast away!
  • Rent a canoe or kayak and find some quiet shaded areas to reel them in.
  • If you need help finding a spot to cast your line, send us a text and we can recommend an open spot during your stay.
  • Please don't fish at the 2 beach areas to protect swimmers and boaters feet!
  • We keep live bait in stock most of the year. Text ahead to confirm, otherwise local convenience stores have them too.
  • Catch something great? Send us a pic or tag us on social media!
